We are looking back to a very successful Dakar 2023.

From 31^st December until 15^th January 2023 , Dakar took place in Saudi Arabia.

Our client RTVE from Spain covered how the race developed, closely on daily basis.

Participants from Spain were represented in relatively high numbers in every category, many of them with high changes to win. Carlos Sainz, this year in the hybride Audi, aimed for his 4^th Dakar victory.

The need of RTVE

RTVE media content included interviews with participants on the track and basecamp and journalists’ reports, usually live during news programs TD1 at mid-day, evening and Teledeporte late night.

Stable qualitative 4G connectivity for live broadcast is crucial. This comes with portable bonding equipment having simultaneous 4x M2M SIMS. Used to maximize network availability with high broadcast streaming stability. An Avi West AIR320 5G is using HEVC compression.

Our SIM solution

The TNF GCC – Middle East SIMS used for internet broadcasting, included all three operators in Saudi Arabia, great for facilitating broadcasting live projects like the Dakar 2023.

Usage was generated mainly by Mobily (more than 70%) and Zain, but also STC -as former incumbent- was needed being the only one that has coverage in some very isolated areas.

All in all, a great event with great results for RTVE which we enjoyed massively.
